General Purpose Epoxy System

This is the workhorse of the System Three Resins stable, fitting well into over 90% of all epoxy applications. It is a 100% solids, unfilled, medium-modulus epoxy system. It works great for new wood construction and repair, for gel coat blister repair, and for general fiberglass boat repair. Use at a simple 2:1 volume ratio with any of the three hardeners. System Three Epoxy has excellent pot life and cure-time control. Use at temperatures as low as 35° F with no limitations on humidity. System Three Epoxy cures to a very thought, resilient, clear film. The medium-low viscosity of System Three Epoxy allows use "as is" for coating and fiberglass work. Combine with different fillers to make excellent adhesive, filleting and fairing compounds. When selecting a hardener, consider the minimum temperature expected during application, and the required pot life. Combine different System Three hardeners to provide a continuous range of cure times within the extremes of the Fast (#1) and Slow (#3).

System Three Epoxy with #1 Hardener

System Three Epoxy with #1 Hardener will have a clear effect on the original wood tone. It requires 2 to 3 coats for maximum moisture protection. For curing, the minimum temperature is 35 degrees. The set time at 60 degrees is 4 hours, the pot life at 60 degrees is 30 minutes. The set time at 77 degrees is 2 hours, the pot life at 77 degrees is 15 minutes. The set time at 95 degrees is 1 hours.

System Three Epoxy with #2 Hardener

System Three Epoxy with #2 Hardener will have a slight golden hue effect on the original wood tone. It requires 2 to 3 coats for maximum moisture protection. For curing, the minimum temperature is 55 degrees. The set time at 60 degrees is 8 hours, the pot life at 60 degrees is 60 minutes. The set time at 77 degrees is 4 hours, the pot life at 77 degrees is 30 minutes. The set time at 95 degrees is 2 hours.

System Three Epoxy with #3 Hardener

System Three Epoxy with #3 Hardener will have a slightly darker golden hue effect on the original wood tone. It requires 2 to 3 coats for maximum moisture protection. For curing, the minimum temperature is 75 degrees. The set time at 77 degrees is 9 hours, the pot life at 77 degrees is 70 minutes. The set time at 95 degrees is 5 hours.
*** # 3 Hardener is not recommended for coating applications unless cure temperatures exceed 75° F. Set time is the approximate time it takes for a thin epoxy film to "set".  At this point it will no longer flow and is tack-free to the lightest touch but still tacky to a heavy touch.
