Arin and Carla Faifer started the business in San Antonio out of their garage in 1981 making handrails, spokes and furnace fronts for Ray Ellison homes.  Shortly after starting the business, they moved the family to Port O’ Connor where the business continued to expand from a little shed to a 70′ x 100′ workshop.  In 1991 Arlin and Carla bought 2 acres in Floresville and began building a shop so that the business could be closer to San Antonio.  The shop was built by Arlin, family, friends and employees.  We officially started working out of our current location in 1992.  The company expanded yet again in the early 90’s as we started working with mesquite to manufacture flooring.  In 2003 we made a family decision to Incorporate the company as we continued to grow.  Eventually, phasing out the items for Ray Ellison and just focusing on mesquite products.  Arlin & Carla are now retired and their daughters Dee (co-owner/business manager), Renee (co-owner/assistant office manager), their grandsons Allen (co-owner/shop manager) and Christian (research and development) are running the day-to-day operations.  Faifer & Company has grown and changed so much since the beginning, but one thing remains the same “to always be honest, dependable and build a product that is satisfactory ” to ourselves and our customers.
